Message from the Principal

A man with a beard smiles broadly, wearing a bow tie.

Dear Cross Families,

Welcome to an exciting new year at Cross! Middle school is a time when students begin to take charge of their learning, explore their interests, and prepare for the future, and we’re here to help them rise to the challenge.

As educators and caregivers, we share a common goal: helping our students become confident, curious, and capable young people. By working together, we can create the foundation for success in high school and beyond.

Here are a few ways you can help support your child’s growth:

  • Promote good study habits: Encourage time management, organization, and consistent homework routines.
  • Support independence: Let your child take ownership of tasks while being available for guidance and support.
  • Make time for meaningful conversations: Ask open-ended questions and really listen, it builds trust and connection.
  • Help them unplug when needed: A healthy balance between tech time and real-life interactions is essential.
  • Celebrate effort: Progress matters just as much as results. Recognize your child’s determination and growth.
  • Engage with the school community: Stay in touch through ParentSquare and participate in school events when possible.

Thank you for being a vital part of your child’s educational journey. We can’t wait to see what they’ll accomplish this year!

In partnership,

Chris Gutierrez

  • ParentSquare

All schools in our district use ParentSquare for school communication primarily with email, text, and app notifications.

ParentSquare automatically syncs with our student information system to generate an account for each parent, using their preferred email address and phone number. We encourage parents to access their accounts so they can download the mobile app and update their preferences on when and how they are notified.

ParentSquare is a safe, secure, and modern approach to communication and collaboration between school and home. Learn more and get started today by viewing our ParentSquare web page. [UPDATE LINK]
